# User Interface (UI)

The User Interface is a key part in any experience. Roblox offers an overlay approach to UI or in world UI such as on covering an asset in world.

Many Roblox games tend to have pretty generic or even terrible User Experiences when it comes to UI, so with a little bit of work you can stand out.

When it comes to VR UI becomes very important if you are wanting to create the most immersive experience possible. In-world interactions are better for immersion if at all possible.

There are some standard UI elements available to use such as :

* Frame - can act as a container for UI Element Layout.
* TextLabel - A simple Text element.
* TextButton - Creates a button with text.
* TextBox - Allows for text box that can be editable.
* ImageLabel - A simple Image element.
* ImageButton - An Image that acts as a button.

On top of that there are some layout tools that allow for more advanced functionality such as :

* ScrollingFrame - Allows for elements to be contained within a Scroll box.
* UIGridLayout - Allows for automatic layout using a grid.
* UIListLayout - Allows for automatic layout using a list.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://themattempire.gitbook.io/documentation/archive/roblox/user-interface-ui.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
